I know that many of you hate wasps, so I thought you’d be pleased to see the fate that befalls increasing numbers of them at this time of year.
You’re more than welcome.
I was heading out this morning on a bit of a mission, so despite her size and chonky outline I probably wouldn’t have spotted this Garden Spider and her packed lunch if she hadn’t chosen to make the back spoiler of my car one of her overnight web anchors. As I pressed the boot button and the hatch lifted, the web broke and swung towards me, causing me to step back in mild shock. I apologised at once, obviously, and the spider was pretty phlegmatic about the situation. Nonetheless, by the time I came back a couple of hours later, she’d removed herself and her prey to a less vulnerable position.
