R and I went into Stratford this morning, to run a few errands in advance of a three-night visit by the Boy Wonder. I’m not going to pretend that we’re in no way apprehensive about this, but he’s been asking for a longer visit for a while now, and back in the summer I cracked and said that it could happen during his autumn half-term break. At the time this seemed like a long way off, but now, here we are.
I’m sure it’ll be fine….
I’d hoped that I might find a late dragon at the river, but despite the brilliant sunshine it was bitterly cold, and nothing dragon-sized was flying. Instead, I spent a few minutes photographing some of the gulls against interesting water, and I was especially pleased to capture this juvenile swimming through a mat of autumn leaves. The strong winds of the last few days have almost stripped the trees, which is a shame, but for as long as these leaves stay afloat they’ll still be providing a splash of autumn colour.
