This is exactly the look R gives me when I say – sure, the Beatles were fine, especially when they started out, but I’m not convinced they were the best band of all time, and frankly, if I never have to hear The White Album again, it won’t be a day too soon.
Luckily, I’m immune to the Hard Stare, and rich enough to buy my own cake.
This evening Campden Chorus had the penultimate rehearsal for our performance of Dvořák’s Stabat Mater tomorrow evening. It’s an absolutely beautiful piece, and I’m really looking forward to the concert – especially as both L and H will be in the audience with R. If you don’t know it, this is the recording I bought to help me prepare, and it’s glorious. R has also been listening to it over the past few weeks, and I can only hope that he’ll make allowances tomorrow for us not being quite as good as the Prague Philharmonic Choir.
R: L2, C7, D8.
