Wet

It was a horrible, wet day, with the wind getting up in advance of a storm that’s due to sweep through tomorrow, and with no wildlife photography in prospect I was at a bit of a loose end. Luckily, R was going out to make a second visit to the Broadway Festival Art Exhibition at the Bretforton Theatrebarn, so – on the basis that he’d enjoyed it enough the first time round to feel it was worth taking another look – I tagged along too. Two years ago R had a drawing accepted into this exhibition, and what’s more it sold, but he hasn’t submitted work since, and this year he said he thought the standard was beyond him. While I did enjoy the exhibition, I have to say I disagreed – though I suppose it’s just possible that I’m slightly biased.

After visiting the exhibition we went on into Broadway for coffee at Leaf & Bean – only to find that Leaf & Bean was shut for the day. We were not happy about this, but (it being Broadway) lesser coffee and cake were available elsewhere, so we did at least manage to plug the elevenses gap. This is the Upper High Street in Broadway – surely one of the most desirable addresses in the Cotswolds, since the diversion of Fish Hill turned it into a no-through-road, and still managing to look enticing, despite the miserable weather.
