“Are you trying to photograph dragonflies?” said the young man, with a kind of laughing sneer.
I returned a bland smile. “Trying,” I replied. “And succeeding.”
As he turned away he let out a quiet snort, which for a split second made me see red – but the urge towards violence, or at least violent language, passed, and I dismissed him from my mind and went back to my dragons.
Time spent in nature is always nourishing, and never wasted. I wish I could say the same of time spent around other human beings.
