Baubles

This morning R and I launched our annual raid on the Touchwood shopping centre at Solihull, otherwise known as the Fourth Circle of Hell. Fuelled by equal parts caffeine and desperation, we swept through the halls like a pair of elderly Dementors, and emerged a couple of hours later, weighed down by carrier bags and self-congratulation.

It was only when we arrived home that I realised I’d been so intent on our mission that I’d forgotten to take any photos. If I’d had my wits about me, I could have brought you a shot of R’s expression when he discovered that the office chair to which he’d taken a mild fancy in John Lewis was priced at £1400 – or maybe the assistant’s look of disdain when R received this information and burst out laughing. Cue pretentious voiceover: “It wasn’t just an office chair – it was a Solihull office chair…”

Anyway, I missed that comedy moment, so here instead are some Christmas tree baubles. It’s beginning to look a lot like…. it’s time for me to go and lie down in a darkened room till round about the third week in January.
