So, it’s just a mallard – definitely not as exciting as yesterday’s owl – but I rather like this point of view, and the light spangling of raindrops on his back. I was really chasing the light on the water, and he was just supposed to be a focal point swimming through those reflections, but in the end the photo became about him, which is only fair as he obliged me.
I don’t really have anything else to tell you today. I spent all morning at my desk, processing owls, and then went to Stratford with R for lunch. The river was eerily empty of birds: no tufted ducks, and very few gulls, geese or swans. I guess they may have moved eastwards, out of the path of the incoming Storm Dennis. Frankly I’d like to do the same.
