Dusting

It was snowing when we got up this morning, and a reasonable dusting had settled, but by the time we were dressed and ready to go out for a walk the fall was easing, and the lying stuff was already beginning to thaw in sheltered spots. A yomp around the parish got us some steps, but didn’t really provide the photo opportunities I’d been hoping for. Nevertheless, I do quite like this scene, with the National Trust tithe barn in the foreground and the parish church behind.

When we got home I went out into the back garden and made sure that there was plenty of bird food available, both in the feeders and on the ground. For the rest of the day the garden was busy with birds, big and small, and today’s extra is a jackdaw, which was rummaging in the snow on top of the patio wall but paused just long enough for me to snap its portrait.
