Leaf fall is late this year for some reason, so my search for autumn colour this afternoon was a little frustrating. Eventually I did find some field maple leaves that I rather like, of which these are three. They weren’t actually my first choice of blip today: I spent almost two hours this evening focus stacking thirteen shots of a crane fly – only to realise rather late in the process that the image wasn’t going to be worth the effort of completing it (not to mention the disk space), so I deleted the entire thing and went back to the leaves.

Still, R has now realised that there are worse ways of me spending my time than fartnarkling around with photographs…
